Our stance on using Ai

It's not that you asked, but some of you have and honestly - because it's so much in the conversation today, I wanted to make sure that we address our use of AI .. because we do use it. Its an amazing tool and we have found it to be incredibly helpful in everything from help with coding, to restructuring orders, to pulling reports and all kinds of weirdness.

We don’t use it to create art for our shop or our customers … but our customers are and A LOT. its changing our industry at an incredible pace and we have worked out our place with it, for now. So we are learning more and trying to keep up.

We have used it to help brainstorm concepts, create textures for brushes and backgrounds, make color palettes, identify fonts, and other things that I sincerely consider mindless (but fun).

I’ve been around long enough to remember when Photoshop was considered cheating and digital art wasn’t permitted for award submissions. This feels very familiar, to an extent.

This perspective may not age well but I remember (as web designer) hearing the internet was a fad, and then that there’s a new machine that will 3D print whatever you can think of, like a fork or a house.

To those of you that disagree, that’s the wonderful part of being human - we can have our opinions and do our own thing.

so the long and short of it … Ai is a tool, and just like any curious human - we have been playing with it since the very beginning. Like a hammer, you could build shelter or murder someone, so I guess my real stance on AI is … beware of the user.

And with anything, if you have a concern, question, or comment - hit that contact button up top and let us know. some of you already have…and thank you for it.
